Networking Help: Can't open/forward any ports

I've been trying for hours but still can't find a solution.

I need to open certain ports to allow web access on a DVR.
The problem is, I can't seem to open ANY port.
ISP = Bell
Router + Modem = 2701HG-G

I've tried going to the router and adding/enabling user defined applications & ports (didn't work), and using DMZplus mode (didn't work either)
I even tried disabling all my window's firewall, and resetting the modem/router.

but nothing worked when I try to test my connection for open ports. I tried testing just the ports I forwarded (didn't work), and I also tried doing a "scan all common ports", but it says no open ports found??

Anyone has any idea why and how to fix it? I found a lot of posts with similar issue on google, but none of them offer any real solution.

btw I used these website to check for ports:

easiest way is put that router + modem combo into bridge mode and get yourself a router

sounds like you're doing everything right
the 2wire modem is a PoS...bridge mode then buy your own router.
