Doesn't really matter what they drive, they could be driving a tank or hummer H1 and they'd still manage to kill themselves like what happened here. Safer cars cannot compensate for stupidity.

If she drove a Volvo, the automatic braking system could've prevented all this. :/

Still kind of confused how the woman ended up killing herself.
That picture of her body looked pretty gory.
If she pinned her head against the open car door and the concrete wall, she must have been going pretty fast.

I guess when she panicked and forgot to set the car in forward gear, she just stomped hard on the gas pedal.

The door was open, head out the door making it possible to hear instructions from husband. Foot slipped of brake and onto gas, and bam contact of pillar on left side of skull door edge makes contact with right side of neck. But wait it doesn't stop there, seat belt keeps woman in place, while keeping her foot on the gas crushing her husband, most likely above the pelvic area, crushing vital organs.

although i do believe some people just dont have to intelligence or ability to drive, i dont believe any of them deserve to die, its truly tragic that these kids lost both their parents and if anyones to blame here, its the people / person / company that allowed them to drive without vigorous testing and training. if any of us were to step in the cockpit of an airplane mid flight to attempt to pilot it and crash, would it be our faults?

The driver was a noob. The husband was a noob teacher. Noob + noob = catastrophic failure. Who stands behind the car when reversing when you know the driver is a noob. It's like im going to teach a noob how to shoot a gun. Lesson one, im going to put this apple on my head and your going to try and shoot it off my head.

They didn't DESERVE to die, but its better this than she runs over a couple innocent people in a crosswalk, or crushes a girl between another car and keep mashing the gas while they scream at the top of their lungs. Some people are stupid, and sometimes peoples stupidity costs them their lives. Its not exactly out of the ordinary. The only reason this news will spread like wildfire is because people's interest is peaked when you talk about a shitty chinese woman driver doing something incredibly retarded. They know some people will get excited to try and prove a stereotype, and others will get up in arms over it. Media sensationalism.

I just wanted to respectfully disagree with your point about it being the trainers of the drivers being at fault. I always believed it was always the responsibility of the student for their own education, not the teachers. Also one last point, as cliche as it may sound I think it is fitting in this scenario. "With great power comes great responsibilities."

If youre at the point where a mundane thing like parking turns into life and death thing...well no cars gonna save you from your poor driving skills

i definitely see your guys point, but im on the same side. they should never have ever been allowed behind the wheel of a car, and a proper standardized testing should have prohibited them from touching anything with a wheel. with great power comes great responsibilities yeah, but when you're sitting in a car, your driving a potential killing machine... some people just dont have that brain capacity that we take for granted, what seems regular and mundane to us is a fucking pilgrimage for them
really hits home for me because i know so many, just to many people who should never touch a steering wheel yet somehow they managed to get their license. some even lose their license for a few months and get it back but they pay premium charges... thats not enough for me

Lots of people shouldn't be allowed to drive. Saw a girl parking into a stall, somehow slammed on the gas jumped up onto the grass, onto the street across two lanes, jump the island, across another two lanes into a chain link fence.

Saw another guy back out of a stall but some reason floored it without turning the wheel at all crashing into a car not in the spots behind him cause they were empty but in the next section.

When you have to explain something liek that to ICBC, your license should be revoked. Those two stories were people in their 20s, imagine when they're 70

I would never stand behind a car while anyone is backing up that car, women or not. All it takes is a slip of the foot and bang.

I would at the very least, stand off to the side.
Although it looks way too tight to even have someone standing there in the first place.

Should have just parked going forward instead of backing in...

While waiting for a chinese lady to back out of her parking spot at metrotown once, she exited her vehicle after many failed attempts and asked me to back out for her lol.

Remember those c lais who mistake pedals and crashes into buildings here?

Just a matter of time before someone is fatally injured.

Some people shouldn't drive...
