Bought a bike

After months of intensive searching I bought my first bike yesterday.

I have had the opportunity to log significant mileage on some new Ninja 250/300s lately and while I loved that little bike I hoped for something with better brakes and some slightly higher fit-and-finish.

My original goal was always a Triumph Daytona 675 but when I actually got close to it I was smart enough to realize that it was simply "too much bike...." I shouldn't be intimidated by something that I wanted to own. The intimidation factor eliminated the bike from my hunt. Maybe next year.

In the last 4-6 weeks I must have sat on or ridden every imaginable sport and naked bike imaginable. I came back to the Ninja 300, the new Honda 500R... but eventually stumbled across a flawless Honda CBR600RR. Similar class to the Daytona but for me the riding position was significantly more comfortable, the powerband was less intimidating and I loved the fit-and-finish.... the price, used, was similar to a new Ninja 300 and significantly less than a new 500R.... so I bought it.

I walked away from countless bikes because of their owner.... this guy was first-class professional and poured over every maintenance detail of the bike... it all felt right.

So since I have been on RS since 2000:

1997 Pontiac Sunfire (sold)
2002 Hyundai Tiburon (sold)
2000 Acura Integra Type-R (sold)
1992 Nissan Skyline GT-R (sold)
2006 Subaru Impreza WRX STi (sold)
2009 Range Rover Sport
2007 Honda CBR600RR

Here is a shot for you guys:

+1

I love dealing with owners who are A+ / first-class professionals and are particular about maintenance. Even if it means paying a slight premium, having the peace of mind that the car/bike was well taken care of and a smooth transaction makes it all that much worth while.

Nice bike. :megusta:

daytona675 06-23-2013 11:11 AM

the daytona675 falls under the 600cc category bike. only differences it has is 3 cylinder motor that packs low end torque. However, it does have an incredibly aggressive seating position, this is comparing it to an 07 R6.

TBH, most crotch rockets are very comparable in terms of performance of each other if it was just the avg joe taking it for a ride. You won't really be able to tell the difference other than the fact that your knees get sore after a long ride hahaha.

Nice bike :D I was looking at the same one

Couldn't have said it better myself, you won't even feel the differences until you're riding the bike near its limits. Which is completely irrelevant to the majority of people on the road.

I've always just told people to pick which bike they like the look of the best.

racerman88 06-25-2013 08:05 PM

congrats on the bike.
If you went to PRS, you should drop by and show off your new bike to Dat and the gang.

I'd love to have a 675R, but with some mods to pep up the top end, for a track queen.

Seems like you have deep pockets lol

And you know what bike still looks the best? A Triumph Daytona 675 lol Always gets the second look. And oh, do I miss that beautiful sound of the triple. :fuckyea:

Once you get some more kms on your belt, get out to a track, then you'll get to find out how it feels like to really open her up.:spin:

Spot on! I especially like it in white cause it contrasts with the red tubular subframe.

Congrads on the purchase, I have the same color! You don't see too many white's around here because it was an American color scheme.
