I'm positive at the end of the day he's going to decide to stick around and play. Luongo doesn't seem like the type of guy to bitch out and walk away.

^ This is true. We're far from a joke and can still contend. So many factors in play when it comes to playoffs. Any team that is rolling and healthy can win the Cup. That's what makes the playoffs so great.

He can play, retire or sit out and try and force a trade. Even if he sits out he's not getting traded because nobody wants him, it's essentially the same as retirement.
He'll play, he has no other viable option.

Pretty sure Lu's deal was signed at the age in previous CBA where if you sign once you retire your cap hit is gone if you were 28 and under or somthing no?

The Canucks would be hit with a cap recapture penalty for the length of the deal, even if the Canucks traded Lu and he retired with that team, the penalty would be applied to the Canucks for the years he played here. The last 2 years the way a whole bunch of players have been treated has put a bad taste in my mouth regarding the Canucks organization from GM on up. And Aquilini is a serious shyster in the business world, hell, right from the very beginning, he screwed people over to buy the team in the first place.
