Imperial Palace, Kanadian Knights of the Ku Klux Klan, 1925

Built in 1907, the Glen Brae Manor in Shaughnessy Heights was briefly the headquarters of the KKK in 1925. By the 1930s, people were referring to the lavish mansion as the “Mae West." Since 1995, it has been Canuck’s Place, a children’s hospice.

Sweeney’s Cooperage, 1960s

Sweeney’s Cooperage was one of the oldest industries operating on False Creek when it was expropriated for BC Place in 1981.
Glad to know its not just a current problem of Vancouver chasing away industry.

East 4th Street and 2nd Avenue?

post box doesn't look Canadian........

MG1 07-04-2013 04:22 AM

If any of you are into Vancouver history, check out the Vancouver Police Museum. It's on the corner of Dunlevy and Cordova. I think there's a 2 for 1 thing on Groupon.
