It's for the fiance. Very little money but she was very happy with the surprise toy since she liked the movie.
I am indifferent about the toy, but I like the challenge of hunting down.
The banana #3 gets all the hype because it's a NA exclusive. I believe the fart gun also. Quote:

I got 5 and 6 both yesterday at McDonald headquarter by willingdon. Searching for 7 and 8 as well. Collecting them for my son. But it's kinda fun for me as we'll.if I get 7-8 today I will buy extra see if anyone wants them

I don't think 7-8 is out yet, I just checked downtown Granville this morning at 8am. They will have a shipment in tomorrow. Nothing today.
Seems like I missed out on the #3...

IIRC (back in the days when I worked at mcdicks),
There are only so many boxes of happy meal toys each restaurant receives, and depending on the manager at each restaurant, they will release whatever number toy it is for that week until it is out of stock, then they willl move onto the next number.
Once its out of stock, it's done. They don't re-order any more, (and that's when they take out the OLD OLD toys they had stocked up previously that didn't sell). If that was the case, you would keep the OLD toys they gave you, and you could go to another mcdonalds and trade that one in for a despicable me toy.
But..... that was 11 years ago. Don't know about now lol.

Finished off my collection on Saturday. Took me 3 days to find all the yellow minions!!

Don't know about now lol. | Control of toys is straight through Martin Brouwer... a company in charge of shipping everything to each McDonalds... amount of toys to each restaurant obviously based on volume (i.e you can order like 6 cases, but in reality they give u like 3), while at the same time there are no guarantees that a restaurant will get every single toy every different order (every 5 days). Considering these toys are quite popular I'd actually expect them to be sold out pretty quick and yeah most stock rooms have a couple cases of old toys that get used every now and then. It's not surprising that a store can completely run out of toys... then you get an extra yogurt lol.
I know that Kerrisdale normally has a shitload of old toys.. 
You guys could probably just call each store and ask what they have in stock... some people even ask to have them saved for them by name...
TLDR;
restaurants have no control over how many toys, what kind of toys they receive, ask when their next Brouwer is then keep adding 5 days for the next delviery

FYI:
If you're really looking at getting the whole set and don't mind driving, the McDonalds just after the Aldergrove border in the US had all of them as of last Sunday.
When I asked about the toys, they said they had all of them in moderate quantity. I ended up buying the ones I wanted, but the whole set should still be available.

these minion are out of control. went to 4 mcd today. they only have 5-6
metrotown mcd. only number 5
mcd near highgate at end of kingsway, only 5-6
mcd on marine. near canadian tire. only 6 and 4
mcd headquarter.. 5-6
maybe better luck tmr
