chroming valve covers

Hey

Im looking to get my valve cover coated/plated in chrome

I have read that when you chrome the cover the engine gets hotter because the chrome holds the heat. can anybody go into further details on this?

Also looking for suggestions of places to go in the gvrd, and if anybody could tell me approx cost?

Thanks

Why not just polish it?

Get a bunch of these.

Either get a dremel, or use a drill. Low speed.

Finish sanding it by hand. Then a Mother's Power ball.

Cheaper.

I think you are confusing matters.

Chroming doesn't hold heat. It reflects heat away from the valve cover.

Heat holding has to do with the material of the valve cover more than the chrome .. eg old school cast iron ones, will hold heat more than aluminium.

I suggest you give your covers a good clean before handing it off to the chromers.. there are a few chromers around eg one on River Road on Delta.. a bit before the Tire Warehouse?
