been hearing these commercials on the radio this week from the Government... I think they are a bit late to the party, since Virgin has announced they aren't coming to Canada. But it seems the government has decided to respond to the propaganda and create their own information website The Canadian government's wireless policy is clear - Industry Canada

It's pretty sad that there's NOT ONE foreign wireless telecom applied for the spectrum auction.
Sure shows how messed up the wireless industry in Canada is.

It shows the regulatory differences between Canada and the US. I mean, everyone wants to protect their industry at home from outside competition, but only one company is willing to consider wading into the Canadian market and even they look at the potential reward as being not worthwhile.
It tells me that there aren't enough customers to be profitable and there are huge costs associated with building out a network..which I don't think anyone really doubted.
