Asia Miles

Anyone else on here have and use them to book flights before?

I have ~45k in points that I'm looking to use on a trip next year and was wondering how easy it is to get flights with the points.

It shouldn't be too bad, but I'm not familiar with OneWorld (AM is a member of OW). I recommend using some award search engine like awardnexus to find availability beyond what Cathay can find for you.

Once you find a seat, call Asia miles and ask them to book it for you (if it doesn't show up on Cathay)

are you looking to upgrade? or redeem? 45k points isn't really a lot. might be better off to use it for upgrade.

Looking to redeem

I remember looking on a link that the Asia Miles website had, and 45k was good enough for a RT flight to Tokyo, NYC, and some other places?

YVR-JKF = 30,000 miles + tax, RT Econ
YVR-NRT = 45,000 mile + tax, RT Econ

These two route are pretty easy to redeem as you are only redeeming for Econ, can do it 1 months before your trip.

Check the sites availability, and then call up to AM to secure it.

I'm still collecting my Asia miles.

I will have enough for a short haul flight after my flight to HKG this autumn.

Should use RBC Avion credit card to help increase the miles. If you don't fly enough it would be hard to save up AM. Esp with a 5 year expiry date. Unless you partake in YVR-HKG twice a year.
