typical typhoon season in East/SE Asia often causes mudslides...but this is some Indiana Jones shit
@ 3 second mark you can see it rolling off the top of the mountain
@Skinnypupp no casualties (not sure why his post was deleted)
makes you grateful that Vancouver doesn't have any real natural disasters (aside from a certain predicted earthquake)

There's always possibilities for flooding and landslides in the lower mainland. And don't underestimate mount baker and mount garabaldi. two stratovolcanoes that are still considered dormant within a 100km of us.

also rock falls occur constantly in the fraser canyon and sea to sky, landslides occur frequently on highway no 1 near hope, landslides in north van killing people? happened before as well.
I know rockslides have occured in the sea to sky...although I'm unaware of fraser canyon. I honestly don't remember hearing much from the news...in parts of asia this happens multiple times a year...the sediment may also be pretty loose compared to the rocks that form our coastal mountains...and vancouver gets a fair bit of rain per year but in the worst monsoon season in asia it can rain up to triple the annual rainfall vancouver gets in less than 24 hours...so yeah we have it pretty good here.
Mount St Helen's eruption in the 80's...quickly googled and it was 50 casualties...unfortunate but these active ones in our proximity may never occur again in our lifetime...nor be close enough to cause harm to metro vancouver/fraser valley.
