Scion FRS vs. Subaru BRZ... What are all the differences? [VIDEO + High Res.]

I put together this FRS/BRZ buyer's guide recently and want to share it here for those who are considering one of these cars. Lots of tiny differences between the two, and I hear this question asked quite often!

These are Canadian spec cars.

Hope this is helpful! FYI the video was just featured on Jalopnik!

My driving channel is here, if you wish to see more.

Awesome video, hope u get what u want from this (a career in media)

So, which would you buy? U didn't mention cost, but assuming they're the same price, appears the subbie has the better options and would be my choice

lol @ glowing badge
are all the parts interchangable? 10 series FRS headlights + dash trim finish on the fully-loaded BRZ seems to be a winner

Nice video, good editing.

It would be good to include some pricing info, even if its MSRP. The BRZ has more options, but what's the premium?

what about pricing? I always find that it more convenient to end the video with the prices of both with the options mentioned.

I think Toyota should start selling base model 86.

Toyota knows that in Japan, it is very common for people to mod cars...so they just decided to add this base model.

It basically comes with cheap wheels, cheap seats, steering wheel, unpainted bumper, etc...

Base model Toyota 86
Price: approx $19,990 (not available in North America)

Thanks guys!

I love that base model steel wheel 86 that you posted, Timpo. That is a killer idea and too bad it would never fly in North America.

LOL @ the Z vs. Zed. Sorry guys! I totally want to represent... and say 'Zed' like I'm used to, but at the last minute I decided to just say 'Zee' because it's going online and in the small possibility that it gets circulated, and it did, it saved me some grief coming from the other direction.

For those asking about pricing, currently it's about a 4-5k difference between the FRS and the BRZ top trim model. The top trim is the one discussed in the video.

'Zee' vs. 'Zed'

Jay-Zed
Zed Zed Top

I realize it's 'proper' to pronounce it 'zed' but I just can't bring myself to do it. I'm too Americanized I guess..

By the way, you did a great job on this. Keep it up!
