Good Tattoo Shops in the Lower Mainland? I'm looking to get some work done (first timer) but have heard of and even seen way too many shitty examples.. Where are the good shops/good artists? |
What style? |
Japanese. Not writing though. |
|
Awesome, thanks! |
These places definitely look promising.. I went by Fat City and a few others to look through some portfolios and honestly wasn't all that impressed.. I'm being picky but I imagine that's a good thing with something so permanent lol. SkinnyPup have you been to any of these personally? |
I've been recommended to this place by a few different people. I do believe they do Japanese style tattoo's too. Monkey King Tattoos |
carlo at sinister skin in port moody is amazing! |
Horiryu at Strictly Tattoo, you can check out his work on his instagram Or give his shop a visit- on rupert and kingsway |
Yeah... no to MK. LOOLL There are way better places |
All of the ones suggested does really old school traditional Japanese. I wish there are new school Japanese artist in the city that does work like shige flip leu and Jeff gogue... Posted via RS Mobile |

And quite a few people have recommended them to me when I asked. |
whats with the hate with MK? Jeff's work is very nice, he has his own style like other artists have their very own. |

On top of having near flawless technique, they are all fully aware of the 'rules' that must be followed, so you don't end up with a wannabe jap piece that has all these fuckups that knowledgeable people would see (if that matters to you) |
Blackwater across the private school on renfrew? Posted via RS Mobile |
What do you want to get done? Posted via RS Mobile |
There is a long ass thread in this section dedicated to tattoos, I would suggest you start looking there. Lots of pictures so you will be able to see what artist appeals to you. |
BlackWater Tattoo Shop jesse wark he also has a fb group the location on renfrew is up for lease now but he's moved to another location working with ken greer at works of passion on commercial |
Nothing wrong with Monkey King. My artist moved to that shop midway through my piece and they were all nice guys, the place was clean and sanitary and the display work was quite good. |
|
His work is way too gangsta for my tastes :fuckthatshit: |
