working at a bank you're not with?

So i really need a decent weekend job right now, and i heard working at a bank is pretty good.
I tried my bank which is TD, but none in my area is hiring and i need one asap...
would it be weird to apply at another bank like HSBC if i am with TD?

I would suggest you PM Jason00S2000.

He's in the modelling and entertainment industry, and may have work available on weekends.

lol wtf... if it weirds you out so much, just open an account at the bank after you get hired. Why the fuck would it be weird. It's like saying I can't eat at Burger King because I work at McDonalds.

idk why you wouldn't though. Most banks give their employees pretty good rates.

How's that weird??

It's like saying is it weird to work at Safeway, when I only do all my grocery shopping at Superstore?

But of course, it might be a good idea that you do. Most employers will give employee's benefits such as better rates, or stock share programs.

why hsbc? why not a credit union? starting wages are $15+ while the big 5 starts you off at $13.50

also, i've worked at a cibc branch before where all except 1 staff was a TD customer.
we all just lol'd. however, i only keep a savings acc at td (no fees, only when w/d), and do my everyday banking at cibc, where i get my fees waived for everything as staff

i work at a diff bank than the one i had all my bank accounts at, but they make you open an acc with them to deposit your paychecks. Since its all fees waived anyways i didnt mind.

But honestly, i have since transferred all my previous accs over to the bank i work at. everything is free and i get more perks, and its super convenient as i can just get all my banking done at work anyways.
