Buying a Double DIN from Ebay

I've been looking for a double din deck for awhile now and have been looking at ebay and seen some lower priced ones with lots of features.

just wondering if anyone bought one from ebay before and have any feedback on it.

Thanks

Same. I'm sure there are deals on CL or even brand new ones on sale in stores.

The no name ones tends to be troublesome and not last very long.

I've seen alot of those OEM replacement stereo's that still cost $500+ go bad within a year or so.

Kind of sucks for the customer in the end, but what can you do if someone decides to cheap out. They end up paying hundreds to try and fix it to have something else break down. Saving money makes sense, but saving a little money to sacrifice local warranty/service sucks.

Stick with a mainstream brand, ideally with warranty, if not at least its a brand that can be serviced/repaired locally. Sucks to have a $500 paperweight that can't be repaired because the shop can't get schematics or parts from the manufacturer. Seen it far too many times.

i'm not even sure craigslist is a good place to buy either... i can't tell whether it's stolen or not, short of asking for receipts. that and the lack of a warranty.

Do you know how many 'Ebay' decks I have installed with extremely unsatisfactory results? Too many to mention.

Do it once the right way and you won't be disappointed.
