TV wall mounts

Please school me on TV wall mounts - reliable brands, what to look out for, best place to buy one, etc.

The TV will be 46-50" in size.

Thanks!

If the inputs are inconveniently placed on the back of your TV, I'd highly suggest getting a mount that extends out

I made a post in there "where to buy this locally" thread 2 pages back, soundy and others gave great advice.

I ended up going with a model from Costco, $79 on sale right now it only sits 1.5" off the wall, has amazing mounting brackets, and can support up to 140lbs and up to 90"

They were also selling one for $149 that sat about 3.5" off the wall but it could extend and pivot up to 18" off the wall

For me, I think it looks like shit if your tv is mounted at eye level or slightly above and you walk past the wall it's mounted in and you don't have a flush mount as you can see all the wiring etc and the plates. The $79 dollar one can still tilt up and down but not pan out

I got mine a couple years back at Jysk of all places, for $50. It just has the basic tilt, but they had one of the ones you can pull out from the wall a bit and angle left/right for $100 IIRC.

I bought the more expensive one from Costco, with the extendable arm. Being able to pivot your TV is great if you have a wide room like me.

The wiring looks fine, because I cut in a plug, cable, and data jack right into where the arm mounts.

I've worked with Sonax quite a bit, quality is good but don't know the price. Unless all your ports are on the side, get a mount with tilt at the very least. Also, sometimes the bolts and spacers might not work out perfectly, so just keep that in mind.
