You just made a blanket statement about Surrey, based on one incident.

Why do you say Surrey is the worst part of all BC?

Surrey is a large city, comparatively, in BC.

And in all large cities, there will always be bad parts within the city, and there will always be good parts.

So, if the same incident happened in Vancouver, would you have said the same thing?

Of course not.

You can't make a generalization of a city's liveability, reputation, or "how good" on one measurement (crime rate, affordability, etc.), let alone 1 single incident (your kit kat pin reference that was posted on another thread).

Lets talk about crime, for example:
Canada?s most dangerous cities 2011 ? Crime chart - Macleans.ca

It's not the top in BC.

It's quite high, but it is improving.

So, it's not the worst.

Affordability?

It is definitely more affordable than surrounding cities.

Families can actually grow in Surrey.

Schools?

There are great schools, private and non-private.

Location?

Centralized and within short driving distance to Downtown, and also to the USA-Canada border.

Job growth?

Surrey is a thriving city with businesses and large companies moving there all the time.

Population growth is a precursor to growing #s of jobs.

See the article here:
B.C. population outpaces national growth rate - British Columbia - CBC News

In the first sentence, it says:
"B.C.'s population is growing faster than the national average, with the cities of Surrey, Port Moody, Kelowna and Langford leading the way, according to the latest census data."

So, don't generalize based on 1 incident.

I didn't fail you because you are probably drunk.

No wonder it's the worst!

Jmac 11-02-2013 08:10 AM

Prince George is far worse than Surrey unless you happen to be an avid hunter, a drug addict, and/or enjoy breaking into trucks.

OTG-ZR2 11-02-2013 08:12 AM

Better safe than Surrey.

Mcleans article didn't seem credible, here are the 2011 rankings from stats can.

Table Crime Severity Index values for 239 police services policing communities over 10,000 population, 2011

MG1 11-02-2013 08:38 AM

^North Battleford, Sask.

Not going anywhere near there, LOL.

No place in the country comes close to being so full of crime.

City of North Battleford, Saskatchewan

Looks like a decent place, though.
