SEMA 2013 (Photo Intensive)

Had the chance to attend SEMA this year and these were the photos I was able to take from my short 2 day stay there. As you may have already seen, the stars of the show were the LB458, LBGTR, 2JZ FRS, and the 2JZ IS340.

Yea, it was the trend this year. Seems like every year there is one thing that every car has to have to fit in at SEMA.

He was part of the Optima batteries ultimate street car challenge, I'm sure you can find a lot more info about the car there.

Those fender flares look so tacky. Whatever happened to making custom body panels for show cars?

Custom fabricated panels are common on the older American cars at SEMA, custom is all there is in terms of altering a muscle car, lead sled, etc. With the newer Asian and European cars, you'll see more aftermarket kits than custom fabrication (at least on the outside).

In terms of older Asian/Euro cars, what can be tastefully done has already been done a million times, even if it's custom. How many Celica's and 240Z's can you spot with bolt on flares and duckbill spoilers?

I think what Liberty Walk is trying to do, is to bring back older trends and place them on newer canvases, whether they work or not is up to the eye of the beholder. It's a bit tiring seeing the exact same overfender design on every model, they could benefit from changing it up a bit on certain cars.

That Starion is fucking sick.

whenever i see those fender flares i keep thinking about the old bosozoku style (and this is a tame example):
