The new one is on Robson right above Below the Belt. Much nicer and newer than the old spot with bigger rooms and I'd say a pretty good song selection. :toot:

Fantacity is pretty good. But from what I remember, they only allow booze to be drank in their little cafeteria area. I could be mistaken though, since it's been a while.

Hasnt Zodiac been around for awhile now? Or was it shut down and now reopened again?

New Owners. These owners have karaoke back in china as well.

Kamei hires servers from Japan on temp visas. They are hit n miss. But the core bartender and Owner lady is really good at service. They have a full restaurant attached to it so you can eat first and then head to the bar area to sing. SOng selections are vast but older. Newest song is probably around 2005 for English.

New fantacity is decent also. much better song selection and private rooms. You can drink in the rooms. But I like the old school feel at Kamei. Usually packed with regulars there playing cards.

Daebak Bonga and Bookyung Banjeom both have karaoke rooms. Never been to the first one, but I frequent the latter with friends. It does resemble Galchae on the inside though, but has a lot of English songs too. It's part restaurant too so you can order food and drinks.

Bumping this up cuz lazy.. I'm also looking for a karaoke place:
- Private room (8-10 peeps)
- Serves booze
- Has current english music. Not concerned with asian music content.
- Doesn't need to be DT.

Any suggestions/recommendations?

Anyone know of a good place with a single stage?

I do the Great Bear Pub in Burnaby, but the drive is so FAR from dt!

Anyone know of a good place within stumbling distance of dt Vancouver?

thanks in advance!
