*Help* 2010 Jetta key stuck

My cousin's key to his jetta is stuck in the car door it turns in there but won't come out.

you'll probably have to call the dealership and ask them to come by and unlock the door for him/you, shouldnt he have 2 sets of keys tho?

the door can be unlocked the key turns in there he can lock and unlock he just cant get the key out

Key is out but looks like the cylinder is broken can't lock or unlock it anymore using the key

A spring for one of the tumblers has probably come dislodged. I don't know about VW but some cars this can be fixed others its easier to just replace all the cylinders. If it is a 2010 should still have warranty, see if the dealer will warranty it.

Is it because it was too cold today? I remember that on my parent's old Jetta. Had to put warm water on the lock...

Warranty that bish. My key was stuck in the ignition had to order a lock cylinder from Mexcian "Germany".

Try some lock de icer or use a blow dryer and see if that works. Also try spraying some WD-40 on the key and pull it in and out a few times to see if that works.

MethylHydrate... Maybe the cylinder is frozen, just open the little slot and spray some in there. Similar thing happened in my Silverado when it got freezing cold.
