BC vs Washington laws

Is there's a Coles Notes of the differences somewhere? I'm assuming the basics are the same but I don't wanna goof something up when I'm down there.

edit: I should specify these are driving laws I'm asking about.

Not sure about laws, but Washington State always tries to have the fastest State Patrol response in the country - so watch your speed.

I heard from friends that if you are on the left lane and you get pulled over, make sure you lane change to the right and pull over to the RIGHT shoulder. apparently you will get another ticket if you pull over onto the left shoulder.

Not sure if there is truth to this

Yeah I knew about that part, you won't get points but if you don't pay you won't be allowed back into the states.

Don't cruise in the left lane unless you're A) passing or B) driving substantially faster than vehicles in the right lane. I've seen many BC drivers get pulled over for that. I personally was stuck behind a white Lexus RX doing 65 in the 70 zone, flashed my high beams 3 different times within a 5-minute period only to be ignored, then passed on the right while giving the driver an obscene gesture... I didn't see the State Patrol about 200m behind me, when his lights and sirens came on I thought it would be me who would get the ticket.. nope, Lexus lady got pulled over instead. Felt good. In fact, I wish our RCMP would enforce that same aspect of the road rules (if it is indeed the law here as well).

Why does every car on sea to sky with a Washington plate sit in the left lane and block traffic, esp when there is a slow moving truck....

The stupid one is you if you don't bother to check if the laws are different before you go somewhere. Photo radar is allowed in Alberta, right turns on reds and reverse stall parking are illegal in Quebec, the last thing I want is tickets for stupid mistakes down there. Not knowing our excessive speeding laws has resulted in many an Albertan assisting in reducing our taxes.

In the US you can make U-turns as long as the road markings don't prohibit.

SO GO CRAZY!

Incorrect. It's only fully restricted on the island in Montreal.

pulling over to the left when getting caught speeding is a $1000 ticket. i don't know 100% if thats true but i almost did then thought tqice and went across three lanes to pull to the right and the officer told me while i was getting the ticket that it was a good decision and informed me it was a 1k ticket if i had.

oh and basically anywhere there is three lanes on the highway you are absolutely not allowed trailers in the left lane. even to pass. even if its a tiny utility trailer. $300 ticket. ask me how i lnow.

Grinds my gears everytime I see an American doing this... Seeing as though I know they have strict laws regarding it down there!
