Selling on ebay

Selling on ebay is a joke. Seller is at a lowest possible advantage in the system.

I sold a phone, sent it with tracking, etc. Upon receiving, seller said it's not in the condition described and that the IMEI is wrong. He requests a full refund upon sending it back.

Now I suspect that he'll just send me another device than the one I sent him, probably in worst condition. What a joke.

Well did you describe the condition properly?

And post the correct IMEI numbers?

Couldn't you have sold the phone locally (eg. Revscene or Craigslist instead)?

I gave up selling on eBay back in 2006. It got really stupid at that point. Had too much trouble with buyers doing exactly what you described, BUT NOT EVEN SENDING THE ITEM BACK and using PayPal to get their money, which I then had to fork over. After a couple incidences I stopped all together.

That and the amount of fees you have to pay with Ebay/Paypal is ridiculous.
