South Park: Stick of Truth

Just bought the game via GreenmanGaming for $45

Cant wait to get home and play it, anyone else playing? Honestly have no idea what type of game it is, looks like a RPG/ paper mario style game.

I might try it at some point because the concept looks cool, even though I haven't followed south park in quite awhile.

Probably cause they are expecting it to be discounted almost immediately.

SoT just came out yesterday and they already offered 25% off

Bioshock Infinite something similar happened too, discounted like 40% off after 2 weeks of release.

I never buy games full price, so many deals out there

Yeah the extra ten bucks is kind of a piss off. Games where I might have bought right away will be shelved till I see them on sale. The only games I care to play right when they release are sports games.

Heard this game is pretty short.

I also noticed it was 64.99 at most places when new games are usually 59.99

On steam its $59.99?

I played about an hour and a half yesterday

I dont think its close to worth its AAA title price. Game play is fun, but not amazing, its pretty funny which is what I guess you pay for.

Definately needs to be polished up a bit more. Using an xbox controller, the button configuration stock is pretty weird, going to see later if I can change it. Combat system is like paper mario, but not as intuitive in regards to blocking.

The main issue for me is the layout of the map and order of the quests. As an RPG I want to loot everything that I can, go in every single open door and garage etc. But there is way too damn many, and it takes like 15 minutes+ to actually get to a place you want to go if you are looting everything which is annoying because the story progresses really slow. The Timmy's fast travel is unintuitive as well, I think it should jump to places you unlocked rather than show the whole map (Because you have that in your inventory). Maybe I was just baked and stupid, but I spent a few minutes wondering why I couldnt fast travel to Tokens house when I clicked it. Why fucking allow me to lock onto it if I cant travel there?!

Overall its pretty good, would happily pay $20 for the game. As I progress further and if it gets much more in depth I will update to say if its worth more.

I've been watching a Let's Play of the game on YouTube and it's like a trip down memory lane. Enjoying the story and jokes, might buy it on sale when I get a console again; my laptop ain't great..

im actually avoiding watching any lets play videos for this.. the only thing i watched was when giantbomb did a preview a couple of weeks back

figured ill treat this game like a show and dont want to spoil anything anymore

and just wait it off until summer, most likely this game will be down to $40 or $30 by then.. ubisoft drops prices on their games pretty quick even though they sell well.. look at splinter cell

3 hours in ... lots of looting, derails game pace a bit, some hilarious items and lines.

Just enjoy the ride, it's very funny if you're a south park fan... why else would you buy this.

The fact that it plays like one long long long episode is worth it already. It's much better than expected for a south park game.

if you don't want to buy it...TPB =p
