I think it's very smart of Google actually dedicate a new platform for wearables rather than forcing current android onto it. (yes, it's still a derivative of Android, but it's a totally separate thing)
It would have been something like forcing Windows onto tablet/phones... it simply didn't work well.
And damn the Moto360 is sleek... it's actually the first smartwatch that I have the impulse of buying.
