Trouble shooting thread...

k i guess i'll start off...

ASUS laptop UX31 variant
win 7

problem:
there are TWO usb ports. 3.0USB (right side) and normal usb port (left side)

i connect my wired mouse to the left side. after using it for a while, the mouse stops working. but there's still a red light glowing from under the mouse so it's getting power. the mouse works on other computers and works on the right side (usb 3.0)... so its not the mouse.

so it seems like the left side usb port "dies" for whatever reason and i cannot get it to work with anything (although it powers things, it doesn't detect anything)....

the only way to get it working again is to REBOOT (logging off and on doesn't do anything).

what the fuck is wrong?! any input would be nice thanks

Try reinstalling the USB drivers first.

remove the usb device from manager and restart. It should auto reinstall on its own once you start up

No, just go here - All Products - - ASUS

Select your model variant (I don't know if you have UX31A or E)

Then download the latest USB driver
