1990 Nissan Skyline GT-R - Vancouver, Restored, Low Kms

Alright,

The time has come to list my car for sale. I do not regret the path that I have taken or the time and money spent, but after doing a cost benefit and a cost to complete, it’s time to let it go.

I bought this car thinking it only needed a few but it really needed a lot. I have done so much and have tried not to cut any corners in parts and labour, I think the parts list will speak for itself.

I have driven this car (since purchase in July of 2012), 4 months in 2012 and 4 months in 2013 and none in 2014 yet except for some day permits. The reason is because I’ve always strived to have a perfect running car before really enjoying it. It’s almost there, and many can attest to its current condition. I've laid out the following as such: the Parts, what’s needed to complete, what I would recommend to complete and reason for sale.

I bought the car at $12.5, and put about $18 in, I understand you don’t get your mod money back, but as you read the post please consider there is less than <1,500 kms on all the new overhaul components. In addition, I have a spreadsheet that tracks all costs, shipping and labour with supporting electronic invoices and part numbers. I can vouch virtually 80% of the listing.

This car was built at AES Auto with Paulo who was a former mechanic at Serial Nine and I’m sure some users on GTRC can vouch.

Testing Water price at $19,500 obo – before you judge, please read the whole post first, and objectively comment on if this is a fair price.
1990 Skyline GT-R BNR32 Gunmetal Gray

Parts:
*included means came with the car when I bought it, but has been verified by my mechanic
*new means I’ve purchased it and within the last two years with less than <1,500kms
*used means I’ve purchased from another member or user

Engine and Cooling:
2.6L RB26DETT 87,xxx kms (full engine rebuild by Takeda Racing) – I would assign no value to this, but the engine runs well – conservative 350hp
Nismo engine and transmission mounts (new)
OEM Engine Gasket Set (new)
OEM JDM Idler Pulley, Timing chain, tensioner spring (new)
Greddy Extreme Timing Belt (new)
IACV Regulator (new)
OEM Main Engine Harness (new) <- if this doesn’t indicate commitment to a rebuild, I don’t know what will
OEM Sub-engine Harness (new)
OEM igniter engine harness (new)
N1 Oil Pump (new)
OEM Water Pump (new)
ATI 500hp Harmonic Street Damper (new)
PCV valve (new)
PCV Vent Hose (new)
Koyo Radiator (new)
OEM Thermostat (new)
Samco Heater hoses full set (new)
OEM Power Steering hose (new)
Valve cover, valve cover gaskets, rocker cover grommets, and full sandblast and powdercoating (new) from Rainbow Powdercoating in Coquitlam
$3-5K of labour due to full engine and transmission drop and removal

Turbo and Exhaust:
HKS Twin Turbos (included – unsure model, smaller)
HKS Intercooler piping kit (used)
HKS *RARE* dump + equal length downpipe (used – over $1,500 and discontinued)
Apexi cat-back exhaust (included – looks like a world sport)
No – name test pipe
Nismo Intake pipe with K&N Filters

Transmission
Nismo coppermix clutch (included – good life)
Nismo flywheel (included – good life)
Nismo stainless steel clutch line (new)
Nismo Clutch Slave Cylinder (new)
Nissan OEM clutch booster (new)
Nissan OEM clutch master cylinder (new)
Nissan OEM Various gaskets and seals (new)
Transmission member bushings (new)
Nismo Transmission mount (as mentioned above)
HICAS full delete including piping and pump
Rebuild 4WD actuator with new o-rings and seals

Suspension:
HKS Hipermax Pro (used <2,000kms, bought at 500kms in fantastic condition)
Driftworks Camber Arms (new)
Driftworks Traction Rods (new)
Driftworks front & rear adjustable lower arms (new)
Driftworks adjustable front camber arms (new)
Driftworks Total HICAS Eliminator Kit (new)
Dirftowrks Nissan Solid Differential Bushings (new)
Nismo Front Tension Rods (used)
Rear lower arm polyurethane bushings (new)
Solid subframe bushings (new)
SuperPro Steering Rack Bushing Kit (new)
Front Inner CV boot (new)
Front Left / Right Outer CV boot (new)
SPL Eccentric Bolt Lock-out kit (new)

Almost every part of the suspension was replaced because I had a lot of driveability issues after I got the car. Driftworks was almost $2K on parts alone with about another $2K for labour including HICAS delete.

Electronics:
AEM Digital Boost and AFM Wideband Failsafe Gauge (new)

What is needed to complete:
Bare minimum –
Needs Aircare (it almost passed with having a shoddy cat and no tune)
New Catalytic converter - $350 ish
New tune (you could probably nistune or powerFC – as you can see I have not built the fuel system side – but plenty airflow side) -$1,000

How I would have completed my car (500hp reliable), which goes to my cost / benefit analysis:
AEM EMS Series 2 - $1,800 + install
Cat - $500
Tune - $800
Bare minimum to pass aircare and be driveable ^

1000cc injectors - $800
FPR, Fuel Rails - $500
Twin Aeromotive fuel pumps - $500
Oil cooler - $600
Intercooler core - $500+
Stoptech 365 or AP Racing 365 front brakes - $3,500

Known issues:
- circuitry for the brake lights and dash lights needs a re-wire due to a short in the system somewhere. I’ve been lazy and just replace the 10A fuse everytime it blows, happens once in awhile
- paper gasket from intake manifold to block needs to be replaced with the Tomei Metal Gasket ($100)
- above aircare recommendations
- body is 8 / 10, I’ve done my best to detail, but old cars will be old paint
- interior has a bubble on the dash that bothers me

Reasons for selling:
- I took a shot at my high school dream car, and don’t have the time to build it myself and incurring too much expenses to get it where I want it to be
- refocusing my finances, as I move up in the firm, I cannot still be living at home
- I am getting no benefit with this car as it sits in the garage, and it’s too far away (monetarily speaking) to be track ready. It will take me $4K for the bare minimum above and another $5K to be track ready.
- this is not my daily driver so I am not dependent on having this car around

Thank you for reading, I am not in a hurry and will entertain reasonable offers.
I will buy day permits for serious buyers.

Pictures (NO RPF-1s, will be sold with Stock R32 Rims)

RPF1s are sold, so it's officially out of the question lol.

Been getting a lot of PM compliments, so thanks for that!
