Please help ID hit and run motorcyclist

On April 10th, 2014, at approx 11:00 pm, a motorcyclist was involved in a collision with a grey Honda Civic on Sea Island Way at Sexsmith Rd, Richmond. The motorcyclist collided with the vehicle and crashed to the ground. The rider picked himself (and his bike) up and rode off without stopping and exchanging information with the other driver.

The rider was described as wearing a red (with possible black) jacket, and a white helmet. The motorcycle was described as a "sports bike/crotch rocket", predominantly in red. The bike's seat was left at the scene as it had broken off. The motorcycle would have sustained moderate to extensive damage to its body.

To the rider: It is in your best interest to turn yourself in to Police.

To all others here: Please send me a PM if you have any information in identifying the motorcycle and/or the rider. You may remain anonymous if you wish.

Greatly appreciated.

Wow... I was expecting car-hit-motorcyclist hit and run, not the other way around.

The seat looked brand spanking new. No markings except a possible part number that may be worth looking into.

Post pics of the seat on here and BCSB, I'd guess those guys could probably ID the model it's from, like how RS ID'd a truck from broken taillight pieces and tire marks.

Sounds like the biker was uninsured or had no license.

If the bike is "predominantly" red (80% or more) it could be any of these bikes.

Kawasaki ZX636R
Ducati 899/999/1098/1199
Honda 250R/CBR500R/VFR800
Aprilia RSV4

At least thats what comes to mind ATM

Not surprised if it was stolen. Its that time of season for the bikes to come out. Already had a buddy get his license plate stolen.

Saw your thread on BCSB and saw the typical dumb answers on there. You're lucky to get a handful of quality info. Since this happened in Richmond, contact Chop Shop Cycles as they sell used parts and maybe SuperSport in Langley as well. This rider might be stupid enough to go to dealers and buy new parts so there is Pacific Motorsports on Westminster HWY that sells Aprillia's. Burnaby Kawasaki, Carter Honda Motorsports and Vancouver Ducati as well. Lower Mainland sportbike riders are pretty small circle won't be long before someone knows who he is.

fortunately for the other driver there is a witness that saw the collision happen, but no further details regarding descriptions of the rider and bike, and most importantly a BCLP.

If there were pics of the bike I would have posted it. I am still awaiting the pictures of the seat.

I bet the bike driver was driving without insurance. Probably took the insurance off for winter and going for a quick test drive before re-insuring it.
