Nanaimo now has a Maker space. I went to a work party on Saturday to check in out. They are just starting but have a few pieces of equipment. They have a nice table saw with a built in router, Band saw, bench grinder, and a bunch of computer equipment and electronic parts. They are going to be bringing some 3D printers, CNC Machine, welding gear, and some soldering stations. The cost is $20 a month for a basic membership that lets you in at certain times and $40 for 24/7 access. They are having a meeting this Tuesday at 7 P.M. if anyone is interested.
They are also looking for equipment if you have anything you don't need let them know.
Oh wow, I knew about the one in Vic but didn't know about Nanaimo.
Plus I just moved into town. Cool!
If you want to stop by people are always there every Saturday between 10 and 2 P.M. and Tuesdays 6:30 to 9 P.M. Or you could P.M. me and I could give you a tour at a different time.
