Nanaimo now has a Maker space. I went to a work party on Saturday to check in out. They are just starting but have a few pieces of equipment. They have a nice table saw with a built in router, Band saw, bench grinder, and a bunch of computer equipment and electronic parts. They are going to be bringing some 3D printers, CNC Machine, welding gear, and some soldering stations. The cost is $20 a month for a basic membership that lets you in at certain times and $40 for 24/7 access. They are having a meeting this Tuesday at 7 P.M. if anyone is interested.
They are also looking for equipment if you have anything you don't need let them know.
Just a heads up Every Friday is game night and every Sunday is 3D printer night. This Sunday I will be talking about 3D printing keys from a photo. We also have Arduino nights and programming nights. People show up around 7 P.M. and you can check out the website for more details. Non members are free to come check out the events.
