Low Wattage Portable Air Conditioner

I was wondering if anyone knows of a good portable AC that is low wattage. A lot of the units I see online don't show the electrical characteristics, only BTU but i'm particularly interested in a unit that is under 1000 watts or less (if it exists) in the $300-350 range. I plan on cooling a room around 10'x15'

TIA

The room you plan on cooling isn't so large; portable air conditioners do not work as well as their cheaper counterparts (IMO). The window units (like a 5000 BTU unit) consumes anywhere from 500-800 watts which is much lower than the portable ones.

Do you have a window available? I just installed a cheap window AC into the casement window of my computer room; it was $100, uses less power than my portable unit and cools better

BTW the evaporative air conditioners are crap because our weather is so humid

If you're dead set on getting a portable unit, Walmart in the states has a ton of decent ones, a few refurbished LG portable air conditioners for $250-$300 USD. They have free shipping store to store so just ship to bellingham and go pick it up

thanks for the response.

i want to stay away from window as i'm not sure how long i plan on staying in my current home and the off chance i want to cool a bedroom instead.

what is an evaporative AC? a unit that doesn't require emptying a water resevoir?

My window setup is temporary and it didn't require screws or nails, it all just kinda fell into place and its held in by its own weight -- i spent a total of $15 on parts at home depot to mount it, and they cut everything to size for me
Evaporative air conditioner is one that evaporates water to cool the air it pushes out, which obviously doesn't work as well in humid environments (i.e. vancouver)

edit:

Oh yeah, if you get a portable air conditioner, given our humid environment I imagine its reservoir won't stay empty for long, you'd probably half to empty it out 2x a day if you're using it continuously
