The Korean Intellectual Property Office recently published Samsung’s patent application for an earphone that seems to be a compact Bluetooth headset and smart glass rolled into one whose shape quickly calls to mind a familiar object in Dragon Ball Z — the scouter.

All this wearable tech is still geeky as fuck..I'm sure they'll eventually find a way to make it look normal

Google is already making several versions of glass that try to look more like normal eyewear

I honestly think this is a lame attempt to by-pass Google Glass patents (yes, Google actually patented the way they mount/integrate Glass). It means that there is no supporting points on vertical level. It relies 100% on the ear piece to hold the thing in place; meaning putting all weights around your ears.

next patent will be smart device using morpheus' style of sunglasses

looks so uncomfortable, wouldn't want that kinda weight on just one ear

I don't know I think Bandai/Hasbro/Akira Toriyama/etc. will have something to say about that

This. Considering my thick glasses hurt my ears after extended wear (-7.00 prescription and mid-level index lens) I sure hope Samsung makes these things as light as possible, like a bluetooth headset. Can't imagine how much these would hurt if they were heavy...
