How to cut this without it cracking?

I am looking to get this plastic hopper (espresso grinder part) cut in half to make it shorter in order to fit my kitchen area. Is acrylic.

What is the best method to do this? Or, is there any shop you guys recommend that can help me accomplish this?

bandsaw.

make sure you are using skiptooth/buttress blades

Bandsaw if your saw is big enough (It is hard to tell the diameter just from the picture). Or even a dremel with a cutting disc (but mount the hopper on a vice first).

Also put masking tape on the hopper to mark the cut line.

From the picture, it seems that it is not a cylindrical shape, so make sure you measure first.

tape the line as well to help prevent chipping and cracking

tape it.
line it
dremel it
sand block it

Hot knife, or a saw with REALLY FINE teeth.

Vice and a hacksaw could be a good low-tech solution

If you know someone with a watercooled, tile saw, just tape the outside to prevent scratching, set the fence and roll the hopper around the blade, using the miter guage to keep it square.
