Aftermarket headunit not powering on

I've recently installed a Pioneer single DIN/door speakers onto my 92' Miata. I didn't think it was enough so yesterday I put in some 3.5 inches into the headrests. I got everything wired up, and while the centre dash was still off, I plugged in the harness into the headunit to test it out. It worked fine so I unplugged it and proceeded to reinstall everything. After I reinstalled, the headunit was not turning on. I then took the console apart again, took the harness adapter off and tried to plug the original harness back into the unit but still no power. I thought I may have stressed the butts while reinstalling everything so I re-crimped all the connections and tested again. Still nothing.

What should my next step be? I'm sure everything is wired properly as everything worked the first time I tested - including the newly added headrest speakers. Only thing I can think of is that either the original harness or adapter has something loose on it, but it all looks fine to me. Anywhere I can bring it in to get it checked?

Have you checked the fuses? Both on the HU and for the circuit.

Yeah I checked the radio fuse, looks fine. I even switched it with another fuse. Nothing though. What do you mean for the circuit?

Circuit, meaning the fuse in the fusebox. Is there a fuse inline with the power wire on the HU or in the back of the HU?

If all else fails, you can bring it to one of our facilities on Tuesday.

Ground perhaps? I seem to remember that the Mazda stereo harness doesn't have a ground it. You have to ground the stereo straight to the chassis..perhaps when you were testing it you had the antenna plugged in... then when you put it back together you forgot the antenna?

Thanks for all the help guys. Problem is solved.
I tried another harness adapter and it worked. Not sure why though because the first one I got looks fine.
