What do i buy next?

So as some of you (for the one or two people who've read my member's journal ) i've decided though i really like my car, i don't like it enough to keep it. This July, i will be selling it and buying something else. I was seriously considering a 2014 Mustang GT 6MT, but i'm not sure anymore... I would love to hear suggestions! My issue with my current car is as follows;

Cons/pros of current car (cons outweigh pros, which is why i'm selling it)

-con: Automatic transmission, while the 6R80 is a great auto trans, i really miss rowing my own gears.
-not con or pro: 3.7l V6. While it pulls like a freight train, and has 305hp, it's just not special. Doesn't sound very good, not a ton of low end torque, just a very boring engine.
-pro: I love the interior. ALL the touch points are either leather, (steering wheel, PRNDS selector, dash and all door panels are a soft, textured faux leather, brushed aluminum inserts in steering wheel, dashboard and PRNDS selector
-pro: Fantastic at putting the power down, very good LSD out back, with power going to the rear wheels.

What i NEED in a new car:

-Either a V8 (naturally aspirated) or Factory boost, whether supercharged or turbocharged doesn't matter.
-6 speed manual, i will not consider an auto.
-a LSD, i won't buy something with an open dif.
-Has to be a well thought out, well appointed interior.
-Budget is same as what a new Mustang GT would cost, (41k out the door, including taxes fees etc)

What i would like (optional)

-Similar (more is always good) power to my car (300+hp) will consider cars with less power if they weigh less so power/weight ratio is similar (or better)
-Good handling.
-Would MUCh rather a new car. I know a used car is cheaper, blah blah blah, i love owning a car and knowing it was lovingly cared for in every way.

Anything else i think of will be added, thanks for all the help!

I know you would prefer **NEW**, but go take the following for a drive:

- 2014 Mustang GT
- Clean E9X M3

I am willing to bet, if you get a few minutes behind the wheel in a E9X M3 you will be 100% sold. You can find clean examples in the low-mid 40's.

GL either way, happy to see you moving on the V6 Mustang BTW lol You deserve better

Edit: Though it's way outside of your criteria, I'm a huge fan of the S2k, maybe consider taking one for a drive, + convertible = pussy.

I'd LOVE an M3, but a quick craiglist search seems like an ~08 with 50-70KM is 45k.

An S2K is definitely an awesome wild card, but just not for me. Too small of an interior etc.

I've driven a 3.8 genesis coupe, but it has the same problem as my 3.7, gobs of power but such a boring motor, that's why i want V8 because V8 or factory boost!

2015 STI

Possibly. A bit above my budget (would be ~43-44) out the door, but defs an option! AWD with the DCCD would certainly be EPIC!

Is seating capacity a concern to you?

Maybe consider a 370z?
G37?
FRS/BRZ?
Camaro?
Charger or Challenger?

The top three do not really fit your specifications, but at the money you are looking to spend/finance i would make sure you really test drive your options. Just because it does not have a big V8 or boost does not mean it is not fun.

I just picked up a used FRS for $26,000 out the door. So far really happy and with your budget you could easily modify to meet your needs of boost or etc.

Just some food for thought.

Good luck with your sale and find though~

Neither are v8 or factory boost but worth a shot.

Thanks! A supercharged FRS/BRZ is definitely something new that may be on the table!

G37: Ehhh... Nah.

Camaro/Challenger: Mustang is MUCH lighter than either, would just buy a GT.

I know my fanboi is showing, but e46 m3 and money left over for a rainy day/mods/exploded suspension bushings, etc. is a great choice. Its no V8, but the 3.2 I6 is better than the majority of them. I don't think you will find a better new car than what you already have for your budget, other than wanting a clutch pedal.

Ahhh yes, the E46 M3.

Couple things that push it off my list,

#1) Nearly impossible to find a good condition, low mile manual trans example. Has to be super low miles because i drive ~25-30k a year and want to keep my next car for at least 5 years. Adding another 125,000-150,000KM to an E46 could get very expensive.

It is hard, but they are out there. Although personally I would NEVER buy one, because there are way too many other cars I want in the price range of a nice one, but they are in your criteria to an extent. The next 30k car I buy will be 25 years older or more, but its partially due to the fact I am retarded.

LOL i'd seriously get an E30 M3 too but it just wouldn't work for me!

But yeah, an E46 is just not for me!

I'd need a second and possibly third job for the maintenance!

Would be insanely awesome though, but again, putting 125-150km more on an E60 M5 etc would be a bit expensive...

How about a CTS-V? Might be at the high end of your range though....lowest I have seen is mid 40s. And manuals are harder to find.

Maybe it was westopher but someone had a realły good point. If you have $40k budget. Buy car $20k mod $5k to your liking, keep rest for maintenance/track days. I'm biased though because I don't like new cars. Just imagine yourself dying in a hospital bed and ask yourself if you had more fun driving a 2014 with warranty or something less expensive and a lot of fun on the track actually using it.

Lots of cars fit your description, just depends what you want to do with it.

import a pre-face lift s5 from the US.

but ya what sdubfid said is pretty much it. way too many cars too chose from in this price range. hell you could even buy a 911 with that money...

yeah... more than a bit expensive... throttle actuator goes boom and your out $1000 for two USED throttle actuators. Which will probably go boom again soon.
And your vanos oil pump will go boom and you will be out $2500.

im not talking out of my ass btw lol. These are really really common problems on these cars with higher mileage (high means 80k kms lol)

id say go for a cts-v coupe or sedan. maybe a year old model
