(unlikely, but...) - any Volvo guys in here?

Yup - must be getting old! I can't believe I'm considering it, but I've always had a soft spot for the C30 T5 but they've always been priced a bit too 'premiumly' to warrant a serious look. But this just came up on CL and I'm actually contemplating going Swede - for the first time in my 50+ cars!

2007 Volvo C30 T5 with Sunroof

Yes I know - it's a slush-box. Not my first choice in any 'enthusiast' car (other than the new DSG/PDK type manu-matics) - but the reviews on this car with the 5 speed auto are actually not bad at all. It's not really a 'sports car' as much as a sportish (weird looking) coupe...so I really wouldn't care. Just want to know if anyone has experience with turbo Volvo's and in particular, the C30?

Any advice or insight would be great! =)

Go for it. I have a huge soft spot for Volvo's. Still waiting for that 850R 5 speed to show up on craigslist. There is also a 242 gLt that's been restored up there right now. God I love them.

Huge soft spot for modified Volvos as well. I miss my old 850R, those were fun times.

I think Volvo is generally good. Just was never a fan of their looks but they have their strengths. Can't stand people who don't post interior pics.

Ex Volvo guy here, but i'm a pre Ford era person. People who have the c30's tend to like them, the whiteblock's are pretty decent motors.

Can always check out turbobricks.com although they're a rwd forum.

I'm as much of a Volvo fan as I am with SAABs. I was looking at a late 2000s manual S40 sedan at Don Docksteader Volvo and it was sold within days.

I'm a Volvo fan as well, but a C30 is just going to feel like driving a Mazda3/Ford Focus with a better interior. However, since you change cars so often, I guess it won't really matter too much. Get your Volvo kicks now and move on to something else in a few months.
