Would you be willing to see our 2015 1st rounder go, one of our top prospects and possibly a roster player for Kane?
That seems like such a steep price to pay especially if it blows up and he doesn't work out here...it's a high risk high reward move.

wait...what. what does him being an RFA have anything to do with how much he can get. 
iirc Shea Weber was an RFA when he got that $7.5M bridge deal so him being an RFA doesn't really affect how much he'll get. Mind you, Weber is MIIIILES hell, lightyears, better than Tanev.
EDIT: nvm that was through arbritation.
IMO, Tanev ain't worth $4M but then again, its the market that will dictate his value.

Didn't someone post a quote here from benning on the team saying if they can't get a top 6 winger then they will look at Santo. Seems like he was true to his word.
