Lol who knows could be srs! Surprised they have never given Alex Grenier a shot with the big club yet I mean he has size and has put up decent points on the farm but yet no looks yet...

This all falls back to the comment I made about how WD is paid to win games and to make the playoffs and just JT and AV, isn't 100% committed to playing the young players or calling up players from Utica.

I'm happy if the Canucks don't make any moves at the deadline, not that they really can anyways. There's no point making huge sacrifice and reinforcing a team that won't make it past the 1st round. I would be really happy if we managed to get more picks at the deadline.
Too bad about Hanzal, if the price was right he'd have been a good fit.
Reading some articles about Benning and its nice to see a GM who personally scouts and takes in as much junior games as possible.
It's nice if the Sedins can put up points but these days i get more excited seeing the younger guys put up points.
If Canucks were to do something at the trade deadline it will probably be something minor then major...they will probably go after another centre since bones and richy could be out for abit but who knows..I could see them pick up santo but at what cost that is the question.

Sedins are still top 30 in points. Why not look at that second line which lags in production amongst most competitive teams. We're back to the days where the opposition only has to shut down the first line and they'll likely win.
there is no second line...after the first line there's three 3rd lines lol
i don't see any solution to it at this point...can't really inject anything into the second line unless they give up prospects/picks.
It's up to whoever's there to pick up the slack, for this year anyway.
^ True but the canucks never had a second line. It was always Sedins/Burrows then the second line would be Kesler and whoever the hell was playing with him. Raymond, Samuelsson, Demitra, Higgins...
Why else would Gillis go out and acquire Booth...thinking he would be the missing piece on that second line with Kesler.
Was listening to 1040 on the way to work and heard a little bit of Torts! Not sure if he was on 1040 or they were just replaying from another station but he went on about the Canucks and the infamous locker room situation. If anyone can get the full interview, that would be awesome
The only reason Torts is even saying this is because it is literally the ONLY way that he can ever get someone to consider hiring him in any capacity at the NHL level again.
*edit* Man it pisses me off seeing that preview pic of the Torts audio... how in the world did anyone think we'd be an NHL calibre team last year with players like Dalpe, Diaz and Booth sharing the same ice together. Yuck.

He'd be a good fit in Edmonton, given their players need a swift kick in the ass.
Lmao I can imagine Torts with the Oilers.
Anytime Hartley ices his fourth line to start the game instead of rushing the Flames dressing room he'll just drive to Hartley's house after the game
