The Last Ship

Anyone else watched the first episode?

I thought it was not too bad...

Spoiler!

white rocket 06-24-2014 09:28 AM

I peeped it last night. Not bad. I'm intrigued. Will continue watching.

MikeHB 06-24-2014 10:49 AM

I didn't know it was already being screened! I'll have to check it out! Last year I was working at the airport in Smithers where parts of it were being filmed, I remember a blacked out A-star heli refuelling and on either side of it were men with machine guns. Now at that point I had no idea there was a series being filmed here so my first reaction was quite surprised to see that in small town Smithers!

JACKED 06-24-2014 03:06 PM

It was alright. I do find the premise interesting although I'm really not betting on it being a "good" series. I think it will be fine entertainment though.

bobbinka 06-24-2014 09:28 PM

if this was a last attempt to save the human race mission.... why didn't they send a bigger ship? lol

CA_FTW 06-25-2014 11:06 AM

it was entertaining..

I will keep watching for now.

Lomac 06-28-2014 12:48 PM

Wasn't a bad premiere episode, but I fear that it's gonna be like Last Resort. Good premise, but not enough material to keep it interesting for more than a couple seasons without going the Lost route.

3klipze 06-28-2014 11:17 PM

Just finished the premiere as well. Looking forward to it. The setting makes it more interesting.

dangonay 06-30-2014 08:52 AM

I like this series so far. I also like the fact they're in a destroyer. It would have been too easy to have them on an aircraft carrier, with nuclear power and unlimited range, and so much firepower that they'd never really be worried about someone coming after them.

Second episode had a great cliffhanger ending...

Spoiler!

JACKED 06-30-2014 04:33 PM

in the middle of the second episode... ill give it a few more episodes chance but right now im bored as fuck. nice premise but the show is just looking like garbage to be completely honest. or at least this episode is really, really bad.

Lomac 06-30-2014 06:25 PM

Of course they had to go to Gitmo, and of course there had to be Al Qaeda there. A friend brought up a good point about this... When the Commander was talking about there being no more "good" or "bad" guys anymore, it would have been interesting to see at least one of the Al Qaeda guys take up the offer to join the ship's crew. Would have added some interesting tension to an already overly tense crew. Plus it would have been a good chance to blur the lines between good/evil during a time of global catastrophe. Y'know, something like Last Of Us. But considering it's a partial Michael Bay production... 'Murica, Fuck Ya!

:okay:

SkinnyPupp 07-01-2014 08:16 AM

Oh man what a fucking bunch of stupid bullshit military bullshit propaganda :lawl:

still my wife likes it with all the heroes and stuff, and there's not much else on so

3klipze 07-01-2014 01:34 PM

"Revenger is best served cold". What...

 on the writing

Going to just mindlessly enjoy the Michael Bay action

FerrariEnzo 07-04-2014 04:08 AM

lk1wzhu4aie 07-04-2014 07:40 PM

LOL'd at the Tim Horton's coffee cans in middle of episode 2

GrahamD 07-09-2014 04:01 PM

This was filmed partly in my hometown! so far i like it

Teriyaki 07-11-2014 09:24 PM

turn your brain off and just enjoy. Its not bad, can't see them doing more than a season or two though. Can only put that "last ship" into so many situations.

evlee 07-11-2014 10:37 PM

so far i am entertained

Lomac 07-13-2014 11:59 AM

I think they played the mole card too early. Could have left it for at least a couple more episodes without making it too obvious, I think. Not that a Russian ship coming after them when there's only one Russian on board isn't obvious at all... (actually, he's not Russian is he?)

He's a Brit as far as I can tell.

Just finished ep4, so far still entertained.

MG1 08-10-2014 10:57 PM

Well, been watching it since episode one. Today's episode was good. Like someone mentioned earlier, just turn the brain off and enjoy it.

That Swedish<?> guy on the Russian ship is uber creepy. A lot of American rah, rah, but whatever...........

SkinnyPupp 08-11-2014 01:03 AM

Stopped watching after episode 3... it went past being "so bad it's good" right into "just bad" territory for me. Come on, it is REALLY bad

MG1 08-11-2014 06:14 AM

Got better. Plus, they just got green light for second season.
