Alternate ending to OP's post:

So today a buddy and I were passengers in a car and we forgot to wear our seatbelts. Cause its still not an ingrained habbit to put it on as soon as we sit in a car seat. As luck would have it, we happened to get t-boned by a guy running a red light. Totally not our fault or the fault of the driver who's car we were in. But because we were too stupid to take less than 2 seconds to put on our seatbelts at any point in between sitting down and getting hit by the moron driver, my buddy and I got tossed around like rag dolls and eventually ejected through the windows. Now we lay in the hospital's ICU with multiple fractures, punctured lungs and hooked up to a machine that breathes for us. They're optimistic that we'll wake up and be able to see our friends and family again.

Been there, seen that. Put your damned seat belt on.

How fucking stupid do you have to be to not wear your seatbelt. You're lucky all you ended up with was a ticket, could of ended with you and your "buddy" traumatizing a few first responders as they scrape what's left of you guys off the pavement with snow shovels.

How do you "forget" to put something like that on? I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm uncomfortable if I don't wear a seatbelt.

As far as "False info" goes, the wrong box on the VT was checked at time of issue. When the Members reviews the VT before court, the notes they wrote will show things like position in the vehicle. At that point they will likely realize the mistake and apply to change it before the trial actually starts. In 28 years of Traffic Court I have never seen a JP refuse to allow a change like that.

BTW...."False" info would be if they deliberately issued you a ticket for no seatbelt when you were walking along a sidewalk nowhere near a car at all. As far as you forgetting to wear a belt goes, if you always wear your belt as part of your procedure for entering a vehicle, you will never forget. My vehicles never move until I'm belted...and all my passengers are. The video shows why. If someone forgets it's because it is not what they always do.

I could see someone forgetting to put on their seatbelt the same way someone could forget to put clothes on before they leave the house

Don't worry about missing a week....always some new "popcorn-worthy entertainment' starting every few days. If we didn't have this stuff we might actually need to have a life.

Hey OP, you should come sit in my car..

Friend "forgot" to put his seatbelt on, I took an S turn doing about 80, and he slammed his head into my B pillar.

I laughed at him, told him he's a fucking idiot... and guess what. Now he puts on his seatbelt.

Has nothing to do with the rules of the road. It's common sense if you don't want to end up as street pizza. Also, fail troll is fail

There's a difference between making a "mistake" and owning up to it, and acting like a whiny bitch on the internet looking for sympathy.
