Comprehensive or Collision?

I was travelling on a highway at night and ran over a huge rock. The size of pho bowl. As a result I had a flat tire (punctured side wall), bent rim, and need to replace the tie rod.

To fix the damage is about $700.

I'm probably smoking crack but is there any way for this to be considered under comprehensive coverage? Just wanted to firm.

As per ICBC.com

"Collision coverage covers your repair costs when you hit another vehicle, object or the surface of the road."

A collision claim will increase your premiums depending where you are at on the claims rated scale.

Spending 500 bucks on an insurance deductible to fix 700 damage and allowing your insurance to rise over it is the only crack smoking related part of your post. Its 700 bucks, consider yourself lucky.

yeah no shit. just get it fixed outside of icbc for $700. there are no other parties involved in the matter, not even sure why you would bother to go to icbc in the first place...

How does one NOT SEE a rock the size of a bowl of pho?!

Consider it a lesson learned, keep your eyes on the road!
