Funny enough, the GoT exhibit was the least packed place during the entire day because they staggered in the crowd in 2 spots

So just went to GoT thing:

You can get multiple timed passes any time they are available, she said there basically isn't a limit if you are a family

We walked into the PNE at 11 and were able to line up right away without getting a pass for later in the day. Waited for about 30 minutes outside, another 15 inside, and about 5 to sit on the throne?

Also the oculus thing was only about a 5 minute wait at this time as well. It was pretty cool and I'm glad I did it to see the technology but for the 60 seconds if you've gotta wait 30+ minutes I probably wouldn't bother.

Got to the PNE at 1pm yesterday, and the earliest time slot available was 7pm. Waited in line for 1 hr , waited 15 mins for the throne and another 15 mins for the oculus.

I thought it was fun and worth it for the once in a lifetime experience.

went to PNE on saturday in the morning to get GoT tickets and left. went back at 5pm
Got the 9pm showing. waited in line for about 30 minutes outside. Then waiting again inside for another 30 minutes.
Waiting in line for the throne for about 15 minutes and then went to wait in line for the oculus for about 20 minutes to watch something that was about 1 minute long.
probably not worth the wait but it was a nice experience

got the coupon book for 2 dollars. saved more than 2 dollars so it was worth it haha

$11 gate admission instead of $16 at the gate or $13 online (you can also save on ride passes too):

It's Vancity Member Day tomorrow (Wednesday 27th) at the PNE

$5 entrance each for cardholder and a guest

I think you just have to show your card to prove you are a vancity member when buying the tickets at the gate

I finally got in lol!
Went around 1pm Sunday, once again I asked the front admission booth "Are the GoT time slot tickets still available?" ... she drew a blank, the girl beside her was like "There should be but I'm not sure" (so basically pointless). I had to ask them to check, they called in a supervisor and she said yes the booth is still open.
I find the lack of communication for their main event quite disconcerting.

Anyway so I get to the booth, and ask for a time slot, they had some tickets left for the LAST SLOT of the day, 9:00pm. Almost got screwed again.

Picked up my ticket, left to eat lunch and run some errands, went back at 7pm, walked around the fair and stuff (again), lined up for GoT at 8:30, waited 45min. 20min for the Throne, 30min for Oculus.

Worth it? I think only if you are a fan.

That's what we did. Bee-lined to GoT as soon as we crossed the gate. The only waiting was the initial line up waiting for the exhibit to open. Once you get in, head for the throne, get a pic, and jump to the Occulus demo at the back of the room. Then, casually look at the other stuff.

Apparently they were handing out "time slot tickets" in the morning first-come-first-serve, and hit max capacity by 3pm. The people holding the tickets were to walk around for 3-4 hours until their slot was open.

So basically if you planned to go to the fair to check out their MAIN feature, first they don't tell you anything at the gate. Then when you pay your admission ticket to go inside PNE, THEN they tell you Game of Thrones is sold out.

Guess I gotta go back next week and pay admission again
well if you read their website... you would've known.

I'm tired of hearing from people how PNE is too expensive or there's nothing to do. Are these the same people that pay $2 to get into the Food Cart Festivals so that they can buy food for food trucks? Or the various "Festivals" we have around the summer and do nothing?

For $13, it's pretty good value for all day entertainment with shows and concerts and things to see.

its actually $16 to get in now

paid 11 with that discount code

I think they got rid of the bogo free entrance deal they used to have in the newspapers

usually its all the same shit every year with a few added additions. Like this year the GOT exhibit and the animation thing are the only real things Im interested in. also the BBQ and food. maybe Boyz II men as well lol

The Chinese drummers were pretty entertaining, although that is now over and replaced with Bollywood dancers.

Completely agree stuff99. $12 for basically a complete day of entertainment you'd be forced to buy far more than that in food/drink at any other venue.

Dueling pianos, all the farm stuff, free shows constantly on all the stages, free big shows at the concert stage, give aways, etc

Been twice for two full days so far had a great time both times. The happy hour at the main beer garden doesn't hurt either, $5 Canadians and $5 wine. Canadian is piss but for $5 I'll drink a couple, or 10

Soo went to pne today for got exhibit. Got there at 1050 and there was already around 250 people in line for the exhibit. I'm guessing they open the gates 15 mins or more earlier so people can start lining up for the got thing so make sure you get there early! Waited about 10 mins outside and another 15-20 inside. Managed to sit on the throne and climb the wall all within an hour lining up altogether for everything.

Man climbing that wall when ur baked is pretty epic lol

I gotta say, I had the WORST experience at the PNE last night. No wonder this shitty operation is dying.

1. Get into the PNE, the first ATM jacks my cash, without spitting it out due to connection issues.
2. Can't get into the Boys to Men concert because it filled up in literally 15 minutes, even though we were over an hour early.
3. Beer garden ATM is broken inside so you have to leave the garden in order to take money out. If you guys are starving for cash, why do you make it so difficult for people to actually get money and buy things? On top of that, only one bar was open when literally the beer garden was packed.
4. ATMs outside the beer garden break down constantly with lines galore to use them, each withdrawal took up to 5 minutes a pop. Are these damn things on dial up?
5. Concert starts, and for whatever reason, the live performance isn't played in the beer garden, even though previous years it was. So all us patrons had to listen to Lady Gaga, meanwhile Boys to Men are performing literally a few meters away Live.

Something about the complete lack or organization and clusterfuck really irked me last night. I almost want this thing to die off so some more competent folks can come in and organize this thing better. Very disappointed.
