Laptops

I'm not very good with the details in technology..

Could anybody help me find a decent laptop for everyday use and would be working long term? I'm looking to get one for my dad since his is dying out and super slow. He's had his for about 10 years now.. Time to move on!

He uses it to watch dramas and play poker.

I found something like this.. but im not sure if it's any good?
Acer Aspire E 14" Touchscreen Laptop - Black (Intel Pentium 3556U/500GB HDD/4GB RAM/Windows 8.1) : Laptops - Best Buy Canada

I'm not looking to spend any more than 6-700 since you could probably get a decent gaming laptop for that price..

Will thank your post... ) Much appreciated!!

Look for something with a Intel I series CPU or a AMD A8 or A10 APU. Keep a lookout on redflagdeals for a sale.

I like my laptops smaller but when recommending laptops for older folks I find they tend to like bigger screens and they don't really move it around that much. If this is true here are some I would look at:

the v5 is highly rated for its price
i almost bought one but it felt a bit plasticky...i didn't like the heft but that probably doesn't matter much if it's gonna sit at home most of the time
you can go try it out in-stores
