Turkey

Hi Everyone,

I just got back from my honeymoon a few days ago in Turkey. I spent 11-12 days in 6 cities on a tour. I started to post some photos from my trip if you are interested in checking them out.

A Trip to Turkey: Day 1 Istanbul | Bill Kwok Photography and Design

I'll update this thread as I post more days from my trip. Turkey was quite an interesting place and I would definately do it again.

For the OP:

Just curious, aren't there any Travel Advisories for Turkey at the moment ? What made you go to Turkey even with such supposed threats looming ?

Travel Advisories are up only for the areas near the Syrian border. Assuming the OP visited Istanbul and Western Turkey (as most tourists do), it's pretty much a world away from the conflict there. My 60ish parents were there a week ago and had a great time as did my gf and I in 2011.

Turkey is a great destination. Top-notch sights, wonderful Mediterranean climate, and possibly the friendliest people (to tourists anyways) in the world. Great photos, it really takes me back!

P.S. Basillica Cistern is an amazing place and I'm so glad you were able to do it justice with your camera and photography skills!

The places we were going to were not close to the Syrian border. We weren't really worried. As our guide told us, the Turkish army is quite big anyways lol. When we booked the trip, it was before any travel advisories.

The gear I took was my Fujifilm X-T1, Fuji 18mm f/2, Fuji 18-55 f/2.8-4, and MF Canon FD 50mm f/1.4. I didn't bring my big tripod and travelled with my gorillapod
