Dremel Tool - Thoughts?

Thinking of buying a Dremel tool and accessory set for the at home tool box. Anyone have one of these? Thoughts?

It's for random needs when I'd want to cut something or small home projects like sanding off some molding to make something fit etc.

About $60 for tool and accessory kit.

if you're any kind of handyman, you should already have one of these in your tool box..

but yes, buy it.

pretty handy to have.

I have the cheap crappy tire brand, purchased for 75% off. It's been very handy. Often it's doing what a grinder should.

I also have the cheapo Jobmate brand and it has worked well for me, definitely worth having for odd jobs (just used it the other day to notch a tv wall mount...saved me from butchering it with a hacksaw).

black friday seems to have better deals than boxing day now.

but the nice thing about canadian tire is things go on sale for 50-75% off frequently throughout the year. you can add items to your wish list too and get an email when they go on sale.

I'm buying the Dremel brand 7.2v cordless.

pretty good value based on what i've seen around at home depot.

Dremels drive me up the fucking wall..

they are a usefull tool in that they do things and have bits that nothing else provide. I recently stripped the chuck on mine with very little pressure and now it makes me want to throw it out the window

it kind of sucks that the actual "Dremel" brand has such a monopoly on accessories because all the 3rd party packs i've ever bought have just been shit, that or their bits rarely fit with the actual dremel parts

Do any of you guys use pneumatic tools instead of the electric power tools here?

Fuck I got high once and cut the legs of my couch with a dremel because I thought it would look cooler as a lowrider

Only problem is then your legs were too close to the ground when sitting, fuck!

Canadian tire has a sale on a Mastercraft Rotary Tool accessory kit.

Mastercraft Rotary Tool Accessory Set, 301-pc | Canadian Tire

I have a cheap rotary tool and love using it around the house.

I highly recommend owning one. I've used it several times on trimming interior bits as well as on my motorcycle, and motorcycle helmet. So glad I have one.

They go on sale at KMS Tools or Summit every so often. Probably around boxing day.
