My parents did such a shitty job raising me that I don't buy presents for people... which is exactly why my parents won't be getting anything, why reward them for their lack of effort?

Christmas isn't about gifts, its about spending time with friends and family and making new memories that you can't put a value on

True but seeing the smiles and laughter from my cousin is always priceless. Beside is always getting to give to others.

Exactly, that's why we all agreed to no presents this year. Not a single present will be given but we will be spending quality time with each other, that's priceless.

Holidays is about me cooking an elaborate meal for my entire family to show them all that not only can men be the best at manly duties, but if they want to, they can make better women than women too.

Pretty much, my family doesn't do gifts unless it's for the kids. I can't remember the last time my wife or myself bought each other anything for a Xmas or a birthday. If I want something I'll go buy it for myself.

This. I think everyone just gets so caught up in buying gifts and spending money, that Christmas becomes stressful (esp if you're a broke student like me lol) rather than a time to look forward to. Especially now that the GF and I are at school full-time and my parents are both retired, trying to scrounge up the extra $$ for gifts makes life pretty hard.

This year my family isn't doing gifts, and my gf and I have decided to put the money we save towards a nice vacation for when exams conclude in April. It already feels less stressful in the home and everyone is in a lighter mood for a change instead of super frantic stressed out. It's nice... not for everyone though, if you have the means gifts are certainly nice but keep in mind not everyone else does!

i like getting neat thoughtful things for my family and the few children in my life. i also make sure i visit damn near every single friend i have during this time. if you don't buy presents i see the reasoning and advantage in it. but don't act like you're better then me or anyone else because of it.

of course i'm not going around buying new iphones, ps4's and cars for everyone. most expensive gift is probably some video games for my sister.

Most of these items are pretty affordable.

$6
Best water bottle to have by your bedside, spill proof top, and squeeze to use.
My family loves it.
Gatorade Squeeze Bottle - SportChek.ca

$45
Best foam roller in the league. Great for anyone who goes to the gym consistently or needs to stretch out.
http://www.amazon.ca/Trigger-Point-P...words=the+grid

$20
Calvin Klein 3-pack of white v-neck polos @costco. These are the best undershirts casual shirts in my opinion. They fit great and are super comfy. My dad loves to wear these as undershirts

$9
Panasonic HJE120 Headphones, if you want great headphones or know someone who needs them check these out. They are #1 best sellers on Amazon and highly reviewed for their price point. I use them at the gym and love them. Super cheap, very good sound
****My friend just got these and his sound TERRIBLE! I'm not sure why. I think they need to be heavily burned in. I always burn them in overnight for three or so days. I guess I had them so long I forgotten. So if they sound kind of crappy right of the box, try burning them in first. Sorry for those who ordered who are not impressed.
If you want great headphones out of the box, try these. I recently bought these at the airport because I forgot my set and they sounded great out of the box. (http://www.amazon.ca/Sony-MDR-EX37B-...sony+earphones)

http://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B007...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

$18
Three pack of Micro USB chargers from Blackberry. These are 1.8A so they charge your phone faster and the cable is 5ft (maybe 6ft) long. I love these chargers as they're high quality, charger quicker, and are longer. Or just get someone a 2meter/6foot charging cable. They'll love you for it. I guarantee it!!!
http://www.amazon.ca/dp/B00K8HY132/r...290_TE_3p_dp_1

$2.50
Micro USB to Apple lightning pin plug adapter. This is great as we have tons of micro usb cables. (Order early since it's coming from China)
http://www.ebay.ca/itm/WHITE-MINI-MI...item4d2688c0c3
Official apple one.. $21 http://store.apple.com/ca/product/MD...ro-usb-adapter

Stuff for your momma

$8+shipping
Wood Fiber cleaning cloths. I'm not sure if you work the kitchen often, but most cleaning cloths are pretty disgusting after only a months use, even if you wash them. The smell and bacteria that get on them is horrendous. These wood fiber cloths are unbelievable. There is absolutely no smell to these things and I love them. What's more, my mom LOVES them. They clean and absorb like no other and I guarantee your mom will find these cloths as exceptional. If you need a stocking stuffer for momma, these should be it.
https://well.ca/products/mabu-multi-...ths_19279.html

$45
Anti-fatiguing mat, this is a must have for all moms in the kitchen. We have one in front of our sink and our stove. My mom thought they were stupid and a waste of money in the beginning and now she can't live without them. Costco has them for around $25. We actually got ours at Winner's for $20 each, but they don't always have stock. I would check Walmart and Target as well.
http://www.amazon.ca/GelPro-Designer...ds=kitchen+mat

Look for a good portable charger, these come in handy.

Giving gifts is a gift in itself. Getting presents is awesome, but we think that giving them is even better. Last year, we assembled some shoeboxes filled with stuff for kids in Africa. I think we'll be doing the same, again. You can also donate $15/box, and they'll assemble a pre-configured list for you, but it's more rewarding to put some thought into customization.

Did almost all my shopping on Amazon so far. I don't mind malls but can't stand when they are so busy and searching for parking forever.

Already got an art/coffee table book for the gf, Audio Technica headphones for my dad, blue-ray movies for my sister. Just a few more gifts and I'm done.
