Served cold food at an IHOP and was denied any sort of discount! Whats the law?
 

Unpleasant visit it was to say the least.

There is no law that REQUIRES them to give you a discount. Just cut your losses and don't go back to that one.

Oh i know that. I'm more concerned about the law of what you have to pay or not have to pay if you are given horrible food, or like said unsatisfactory food. Or maybe food that has something wrong with it that you can't even eat yourself as a customer.

The fact of that matter is that while you may have received totally unsatisfactory food when they offered to replace it with (hopefully) satisfactory food you chose not to take advantage of that. The service might have been shit and maybe you were in a rush to leave but keep in mind they offered to do more than they are legally obligated to.



edit: You short-changing them while paying the bill was the only actually illegal thing that took place.

By the time they offered, it was mostly eaten. Thats why. No one came when we initially needed them to.

this is like going to The Bay and looking for a size that isn't there, finally finding it on a another shelf, going to the cashier complaining that no one helped you and asking for a discount.. WTF is this world coming to.

If the food sucked and you lacked attention, take it out in the form of a shitty tip, bitch the manager, write to corporate, post on yelp.
You can't just deduct $2 from the original price because it wasn't to your satisfaction - that is stealing.

If it was such a big deal get off your ass and go find someone to get the manager instead of waiting for them to swing by, how the hell are they supposed to know there's a problem if you eat a bunch of the food anyways and then complain later?

if i was the manager and i had a complaint about food that the customer didn't like but finished i don't think i would do anything. From their end it could just be someone cheap and looking for a free meal.

Reminds me of the Asian lady that tried to refund a half eaten cake to Costco.
