Sony Pictures Hack I can't find another thread on this. If there is please delete this one. Today they announced the movie the Interview has been officially canned amongst threats to blow up theaters which showed the movie. Another huge leak is suppose to happen as well on December 25th. Thoughts? |
just posted a thread about this in the off topic forum |
What could be so controversial that they were receiving threats ?? http://recode.net/2014/12/16/sony-ha...the-interview/ |

I really don't think it would get the same kind of reaction. People wouldn't die over it. |

This is a real damn shame, god knows how much anti-american shit they force on the people of North Korea that we don't know about. Kim-Jong Il never had a problem with Team America, to this extent, at least. Unfortunately this makes him look really good to his people now. "Wow, our leader has the power to control the Americans." This was bound to happen, as soon as they started with the bomb threats. Just like at a sporting event scheduled in an arena set to be full of people, if someone calls in a threat, they have no choice but to postpone or cancel. This is a pretty big embarrassment for Sony, and a big financial loss. It's a shame he got away with this. EDIT: That being said, I'm pretty sure the movie is awful. Seth Rogen films are pretty painful to watch. |

I still think it looks decent... As for the cancellation of the movie, I think it sets a scary precedent moving forward... |

they (the hackers) probably have a lot of sensitive information that would make all the high level execs look REALLY bad. they're not saving people... they're saving their own asses from looking like whatever outrageous things they've said in private emails and pictures... the public would probably crucify them for being "racist/misogynist/hater/etc..."... stock tank. its purely self interest. the shame they'll receive from their own people, will be worse than making any amount of money from that movie. |

Well that fuckin sucks! They've let the terrorists win... Dubya wouldn't have let this happen! |
INB4 Seth and James are assassinated. |
Obviously not a risk that can be taken, but from what I know, there's no credible source the hackers are from or related to North Korea. It could be a bunch of hackers trolling. The threats of physical destruction could just be a big bluff. |

the terrorists are winning! |
I could care less about this film like any other painfully awful Seth Rogan film but I'm disgusted with Sony, what a spineless, coward move to cave into these cyber terrorist, you never give in to terrorist, just justifying terrorist actions. |
