I get paid occasionally in USD so I opened an account. Then I opened one at TD because they have a USD Visa so I can buy parts online.

I also cross the border occasionally. Wondering how much USD I should keep though, and how much to sell back to CAD, as I will need that money come tax time.

Either way, the low CAD helps the film industry, which means more work for me!

if you hold USD to be diversified, then re balance.

if you sell USD/buy CAD, what will you do with it? invest in TSX? I'd rather hold USD in S&P500 and CAD in TSX (if you hold S&P500 in CAD, you are actually holding S&P500 in USD, unless you buy a hedged etf (which is a stupid idea))

to answer your question - there is no answer, do what's in your plans
I get paid in USD and most of my expenses are in CAD so I've been converting it. I'm looking into starting to invest and I'm not sure if I should be investing in Canada or US. Does it matter too much? I'll probably always have a constant stream of USD for the next few years.

CAD will likely continue to slide rather sharply to the low 60's. Why? Because there is nothing to prop it up, we won't raise interest rates, commodity prices expected to stay low as emerging market and China continue to cool off, and the US Fed will keep pushing rates up while their economy continues to grow much faster than ours.

Our single biggest client is basing their 2016 financial forecast around a loonie trading even lower an it is today, they are expecting a .63 loonie by the end of 2016. Ouch.

With the loonie almost certainly heading further down instead of bouncing back, one question is -- do you buy car parts (from the States, obvious) now? or do you put it off until it starts coming back? Could be a loooooooong wait, but I hate the idea of buying something when I don't really need it yet.

Requested a refund for my Lily drone($500USD) I ordered last year, as they have extended the release date to Summer of 2016. I wasnt happy about that and you can get better drones nowadays.

I just made ~$200 from the exchange.. LOL

This Mt. Baker trip is gonna fucking suck. Lift tickets will be as expensive as whistler, and the champagne of beers will actually cost as much as champagne.

Could the housing crash be right around the corner?
I would like to see how this corporate profit margin chart looks like now if anyone can find an updated one.

I highly doubt it, considering the volatility of the Chinese stock market, in addition to our weak dollar, more money should be coming in to Canada from China.

Haven't you been predicting the next economic crash for a couple years now?

As well as some sort of human enlightening a year or two back?
