Downsides to a warm Winter QE park was the shit as a kid getting to sled down some of the big ass hills!!! Did any snow stick at all in Vancouver? Just got a fucking mosquito bite in early February. Right on the knuckle of my index finger and it feels hotter than a 1984 Dodge Daytona non-intercooled turbo intake charge. Fuck!!! |
well at least next year I can start a flame war in the winter tire thread winter .. what winter? :troll: #7degreescelsius #blahblahblah #randomfacts #shitdisturber |
anyone take off the snow tires yet? I am itching to do so. but last year, i recall there was a big dump of snow in mid February... yet it was colder last year too. |
wait until april cause you never know |

Plenty of snow up at my place. Looks like DT isn't the greatest location for everything, Jason. ;) :troll: Spoiler! :fullofwin: |
no fucking ski season is the worse, didnt even get value out of my cypress gold card. Guessing the season is going to be over already. then winter tires were only useful for 4 weeks... Summers are going bald so going to have to save up for new tires in the next 2 months instead of waiting another 4+ months to switch... Fuck you el nino |
kitimat got like 70" over the weekend, it's actually a pretty big emergency up there...but i can't help feeling jelly :( |
Yes but we're adults now. ...and kids these days don't play outside anyways. |

Just need to start heavily promoting mountain biking instead... year 'round!!! |
Upsides to warm winters -no snow on roads down here -->less retarded c-lais thinking they can drive -not as fucking cold as east coast -can wear a t-shirt on a sunny day -less power outages -don't have to raise car -all-seasons year round make driving cheaper |
On a more serious level, one of the downsides to a warm winter is the smaller or non-existent snow pack could mean drought if it's followed by a dry spring and/or summer. |

That's such an enormously stupid thing to say, what's next; "Maybe an earthquake will rock the west coast, and millions will die, then I might actually be able to afford a place in Vancouver". |
Took off the snow tires this weekend, low profile all-seasons back on. I usually keep my snowies on until mid-March, but continually driving in +10 degree weather just didn't make sense, especially with the long-term forecast showing no signs of cold weather over the next 10 days. If we get a cold snap in early March and a random day of snow, I'll work from home :P |
Surprisingly the poor snow pack seems to be only on the south coast and the island. the rest of the province is pretty well at normal levels. Altho, I think there was quite abit of melting over the last week, so we will see what happens in the march update. for what its worth, snowpacks continue to grow all the way through april, so the province on average might end up with a normal year.. http://bcrfc.env.gov.bc.ca/bulletins...owIndexMap.jpg |
I'm not going to lie, I love these warmer winters. I had enough snow in my early years living in the Prairies that if I never seen another snowflake again for the rest of my life I'm totally cool with that. |

I'm sure they got a lot of complaints and questions about that, because from the pictures I have seen, half the days they were open, they should not have been. |
I saw recently that Hemlock has closed for the season also. And yes I feel pretty dumb having winter tires on this winter! |
My winters are way better than the all seasons I had on there, I'm okay with having swapped them (as long as it doesn't get too warm and they melt or something :heckno: ) Also I'm pretty sure the riders are enjoying this winter lol |
