Samsung Galaxy S6 release date, news and features | Mobile Phones News | TechRadar

It looks pretty good I have to say. 3GB of RAM and that display. Too bad no more SD card slot and it doesn't have a non removable battery. Battery is also smaller so not sure how it will hold out. Samsung did mention they slim down touchwiz so maybe it won't so laggy. The new finger print scanner will work just like iPhone's finger print scanner which is a solid upgrade.

In turns of the S6 edge, I really like the screen but I am also worry that if I drop it the screen will crack. Also how am I going to fit a case on it or apply tempered glass on it.

Seems like the M9 is a bit better right now.

Samsung goin back to their old ways...and thats blatantly copying Apple. Even their headphones are the same.

I dunno whats makes them unique anymore without the removable sd card and battery.

surprised the industry will be stuck on 3GB ram for what appears to be another year....first came with the note 3 year and half ago.
doubt it'll actually cost sig more just to add that extra 1GB...again another 64-bit chip wasted
dafuq, smaller AND non-removable battery? What is this, ipad air 2?

I don't know what everybody is complaining about. There have been endless complaints of Samsung's use of plastic and that they never use "premium" materials. Now when they use glass and metal everybody focuses on the fact there is no removable battery or micro SD card slot. Yeah it sucks, but you can't have it all.

As far as the smaller battery, I guess they're trying to stay in the "slim" race.

Solution: Don't buy the S6 or S6 Edge

The HTC M8 and M9 is all aluminum yet it still have the SD card slot. The Sony Xperia Z1 Z2 Z3 is all water prof and still have a SD card slot. They both feel premium.

I guess Samsung is trying to get as much profit as they can. Get rid of the SD card so people are force to pay for a premium for storage.

The removable battery isn't a deal breaker IMO, but the fact that there's no microSD slot gives me little to no incentive to choose this over the M9 (which I also had higher expectations for). The S6 has a great camera though.

I don't work for samsung so I can't comment on why they removed the SD card slot, but I'm betting on the fact that they didn't want to completely redesign the phone to accomodate external memory.

Removing it also gives them something to offer in a future "upgrade"

Maybe Samsung is thinking people who want an SD slot and removable battery will look at the Note line instead.

Makes me excited for the new note. The battery life will be fine for this phone. With Android 5.0 Lollipop, battery life has more than doubled for many people. It's a much more efficient OS.

only if the price is affordable, the edge is not really a must compare to battery and SD slot.

I will pass and wait for Z4 and G4

i dont mind the battery/sd card situation.. it was a cool feature but i never needed either of them.. for some it will be a large issue but i think the majority of people will over look it as they are Samsung fanboys

kinda like how most iphones had very minute changes.. but people still lined up for days to be the first to get them

Very curious about cases for the Edge, I don't like the flip cases so will see what the options are.

Samsung should have designed some cases and unveiled it there as well.
Then hopefully we can get the nightmarket/online knockoffs.

I think it's a good thing that Samsung has ditched the SD card. For a long time, people have complained about how slow Samsung/Android cameras when compared to an iPhone. This is largely due in part to the slow read/write speeds of the MicroSD cards. By forcing all storage to on board memory, people will stop complaining about their slow camera.

considering the poor reliability of samsung batteries, I'd be a bit worried about it being not removable. Had to replace the battery twice on my gf's S4 within a year.

That's gonna be a deal breaker for a lot of people, not sure why they would take away that feature

That's interesting. I bet this is something most people don't know. Samsung should have done a better job of explain why they got rid of the sd card feature.
