When I was in a predominantly brown elementary school, a lot of kids seriously glorified him and wanted to become the next bindy johal by acting all gangster and shit. I doubt he is still relevant anymore, but hopefully this film doesn't glorify the gangster life and shows what actually happens...AKA nearly all his crew is 6ft under
He was big news back in the mid-late 90's. Took a bullet to the back of the head on the dance floor at Palladium. Tried to go up against those that were bigger than him and he paid the price with his life. McNair peeps from the 90's would remember some of his crew.
Movie worthy? Fuck no. What a waste of resources and money
They made this movie before. Gillian Guess was a juror at Peter Gills and Bindy Johals trial. She started an affair with Peter Gill while the trial was happening.
That name sounds familiar. Did he ever go to Van Tech? I remember literally everyone in my family making a big stink about me going there for HS because it was a "gangster school" and started dropping all these guys' names.... somehow this one sticks out

Everyone was scared shitless of those guys. They did not fuck around!

26 now, you would have been 9 around that time. I don't know to many 9 year olds that are up to date with the news so not that surprising really.

I went to high school at Johnston Heights and I'm 33 right now. This being said yup, I knew who he was, met him before and everyone that was friends with him wouldn't fuck with him cause he was just that crazy.
Oh those were the days. Grew up going to Sexsmith when he was big and he didn't live too far from me either. As mentioned lots of brown guys at the time idolized him which may have explained why Moberly boys tried rolling up on our school to start shit so often.

Knew him well. "Nice guy" on his good side but was missing that part of the brain that has compassion, remorse, common sense..... yea Sociopath. I'll watch it cuz I was pretty much living along side all this shit.
Alot of you might be too young to have paid attention to the news 15 years ago. But even I know who he was, and I live in Kelowna. You could think of it like he had the notoriety of the Bacon Brothers but in the late 90s, maybe even more so.
