That's not true.

Some examples

Coilovers, KW

Exhaust , Flowmaster

Intakes, AEM

None of these street products say off road use only on the items that I have ever seen.

^^ Street version or Street line products can be used in street vehicles..?

It doesn't matter if the item says not legal for street legal or not. The MVA does not say anything about coil overs or what not. It has specific requirements that just have to be met, about function and specs it has to be within. Sure the parts are not DOT FMVSS CMVSS approved but if that was the case, 95% of the part stores in BC would be closed down by now.

I have drag coilovers installed and although they say NOT FOR STREET USE, they fall well within to regulations therefore meet MVA.

I have a box for a set of KW V3's in my room right now, and they clearly say right on the side "For off-road use only".

I'm sure if I had the manual for them, it would say it in there as well.

No they don't.

I have a picture of a Koenigsegg on my garage wall and it says "for off road use only"....I'm sure if I had a manual for it as well, it would say it in there as well.

Please go read through the BC VIM 2010, forward the page to me where it says they don't. Before you say it doesn't matter what it says, remember that to pass a VI in BC the VIM is what is used. You can PM and ill send you a photo of what it says if you don't have access to it.

Just as JL9000 said before me, the requirements are based on specs, not certifications from governing bodies.

Post a picture. I have never seen a KW box with this printed on it.

Almost every major mechanical aftermarket performance part in existence is illegal for street use, whether it says so on the box or not. (if you want to get anal)

Do I care? Nope (and neither do some police officers), but non DOT compliant parts are cut and dry. The only nation (that I know of) that actually follows up with mod legality is Australia, major parts have to come with an engineering certificate but are otherwise legal.

Now I have to get back to figuring out how to stick zombie apocalypse armor plating to my windows.

Just do what I did....become a zombie and all the worry is gone...and no need to armour your windows.
